Job Summary:

This position is a vital role within the IT Project Management Office (PMO), responsible for assisting the PMO in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project objectives are achieved within the defined scope, schedule, and budget. This role requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Assist in project planning and execution:
  • Collaborate with IT Project Managers to develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Support the coordination and execution of project activities, ensuring adherence to project management best practices.
  • Assist in identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder management:
  • Engage and collaborate with project stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Communicate project updates, progress, and key milestones to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
  • Project coordination and tracking:
  • Assist in coordinating project resources, tasks, and deliverables across cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor project progress, track key metrics, and report on project status to the PMO.
  • Support the maintenance of project documentation, including project plans, risk logs, and change requests.
  • Quality assurance and risk management:
  • Contribute to ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and align with business requirements.
  • Identify and assess project risks, and assist in the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans.
  • Participate in project reviews and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve project delivery processes.
  • Collaboration and teamwork:
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and business analysis teams, to ensure project success.
  • Act as a point of contact for team members, providing guidance and support as needed.

SCOPE & IMPACT:

This position takes on a crucial role in supporting the planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects within the organization. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams, they ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT project management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve project-related issues.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow) is preferred.
