The Shakeout Lead assumes a lead role in daily activities related to product shakeout, ensuring consistent quality.

Coordinates efficient operations of shakeout machinery, including machinery set-up and proper staffing. The Shakeout Lead

operates equipment, identifies, troubleshoots, and escalates problems as they arise, and adheres to all related

documentation and specification requirements. The Shakeout Lead motivates and ensures proper training of Shakeout staff

and is also responsible for ensuring that relevant materials are in place for efficient operation and minimized downtime.

Estimated starting annual base salary is $27.00/hour less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Production management to schedule maintenance, sanitation, and complete work orders.
  • Work with Production management to ensure adequate product and packaging for efficient runs.
  • Oversee change over, verification of packaging specifications and other related activities.
  • Coordinate with fellow team leaders on available staffing while lines are down to fill packaging lines as needed.
  • Identify and lead improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) & NSF standards, safety, sanitation housekeeping
  • (including routine, deep cleaning), proper attire, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and reviewed daily.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all production documentation and related requirements.
  • Conduct inventory transactions including material issuing and returns.
  • Interact with computer software to read production schedules, enter downtime, scrap, document units produced,
  • etc.
  • Use safe and proper procedures to operate machinery.

People Leader Responsibilities

The Shakeout Lead carries out People Leader Responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable

laws. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to employees in Shakeout, coordinate training and daily scheduling.
  • Ensure staff adhere to safe and proper procedures to operate all machinery. Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Train Shakeout team on safe equipment operating procedures to customer and company specifications, including
  • quality standards.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 years’ experience in machine operation in a food manufacturing/bottling environment including mastery of all
  • shakeout responsibilities.
  • Prior GMP and/or CPG industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Proven leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of all related GMP requirements.
  • Intermediate material handling knowledge.
  • Intermediate computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong decision-making, time management, analytical, and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
  • decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
  • procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • of customers or employees of organization.
  • Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to apply common sense
  • understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
  • involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic material handling knowledge.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and

requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must

frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required

by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is usually loud. The Shakeout Lead will work in wet or humid

conditions, near mechanical moving parts, with exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
