Key Holder

Our store teams are the enablers for our customers to experience the difference of a Cotton On (Brand) Store. Here everyone is welcome and appreciated.

You drive the amazing message of our Foundation and how our teams and customer are making life changing impact in our projects around the world.

You bring your commercial eye to the store, spot opportunities, support and enable the team around you.

The Key Holder plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the store and ensuring smooth execution of tasks. Reporting to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, this position is responsible for upholding the direction set by the leadership team, particularly during opening and closing shifts. The Key Holder oversees team performance on the floor, supports operational excellence, and helps maintain high standards in attendance, productivity, and team morale. This role also involves providing guidance, motivation, and support to Sales Associates. Key Holders will not be responsible for establishing any store policies or evaluating employees’ performance through written documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open and close the store in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Lead the store team as part of management
  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Assist in inventory control, restocking, and merchandising
  • Ensure store cleanliness and safety standards are upheld
  • Support loss prevention efforts and report any unusual activity
  • Engages with store teams and customers professionally and respectfully
  • Train and mentor new associates as needed
  • Ability to interact collaboratively and work as a team towards a common goal
  • Maintain a professional presence and motivate and inspire others
  • Acting in a respectful manner to customers, managers and peers

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent analytical skills, effective time management and prioritizing skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
  • Takes initiative and is assertive
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Has resilience in an ever-changing environment, be assertive, drive results, prioritize and consistently make good decisions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and reach above head/ shoulders
  • Ability to use a step stool and/or ladder

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1+ years of retail sales experience
  • Minimum of 1+ year of acting retail leadership/management experience that allowed you the opportunity to lead aspects of the business and develop team members
