Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process by ensuring that materials are accurately counted, managed, and distributed. This position supports our inventory management system and is essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inbound inspections, unpackaging, PO matching, counting, labeling, and accurate put-away.
• Perform daily Kanban replenishment and initiate reorders.
• Pick, stage, and deliver items to production; expedite as needed.
• Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas (5S).
• Handle discrepant materials including RTV, RTS, rework, and scrap.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment such as scales, carts, pallet jack, and forklift.
• Assist other departments to ensure material availability.
• Provide backup for shipping and receiving duties.

Essential Skills

• Material handling experience.
• Proficiency in inventory management.
• Experience with RF scanners.
• Skills in packaging, unloading, and packing.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Order picking experience.
• Ability to handle discrepant materials.
• Experience in conducting cycle counts.

The work environment involves a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing setting where attention to detail and safety are paramount. Employees are expected to maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S principles. The role requires regular use of equipment such as scales, carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Salem, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
