Job Description:
Business Oregon is currently hiring a Systems Administrator (Information Systems Specialist 6) within the Technology Services Section of the Operations and Finance Division. What you will do:
- Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain multiple operating systems and software applications. Resolve any system crash or system performance issues.
- Manage Microsoft 365 licenses and accounts.
- Assist with maintaining desktop imaging and management server infrastructure. Plan for, install and maintain software new to the industry to support agency business needs.
- Recommend changes to the operational process supporting IT at the agency.
- Assist with maintaining Systems Center and deployments of agency software.
- Provides support and administration for the agency’s business systems.
- Provides and assists with critical maintenance of server, network equipment, and desktops.
- Provides customer service, construction, and operation of the agency Local Area Network (LAN) and communications infrastructure.
- Maintain, repair, and coordinate multiple vendor assistance with all agency network components.
- Perform physical repair, diagnoses and implementation of server, desktop, and network systems.
- Plan and implement hardware system upgrades and migrations for a dispersed user set.
- Create, test, and maintain the hardware disaster recovery plan while addressing legal mandates for processing and considering partner needs.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of some or all the following skills:
- Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine compliance with laws, regulations or standards.
- Expert in using Microsoft office suite, document and reporting writing software.
- Experience collecting, maintaining, organizing, and reporting data in both an informational and narrative format.
- Skilled at communicating verbally and in writing with a variety of people to answer questions and explain information and communicating effectively.
- Ability to perform a variety of clerical functions at a technical or secretarial support level requiring decision-making within established laws, rules, policies, and procedures.

What you need to qualify:
(a) Five (5) years of information systems experience in: technical support.
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
OR
Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND three (3) years of information systems experience in: technical support;
OR
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: technical support.

The Information Technology team is responsible for developing and supporting innovative solutions aimed at automating and advancing the Business Oregon operations and mission. It also operates and supports the agency storage, server, network, desktop, laptop, and mobile devices, as well as on premise and could hosted applications.

- PERS – This is a PERS qualifying position. This will mirror the bargained SEIU and AFSCME PERS process.
