Strategic Management Analyst II - B23 - Salary Range $80,000.00 - $85,000.00

Strategic Management Analyst III - B25 - Salary Range $85,000.00 - $95,000.00

Position Description

Strategic Management Analyst II:

This role involves diving into information for various programs—compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating information to coordinate program initiatives and program improvements. It requires frequent collaboration across all levels of the agency and regular interaction with TxDOT staff and private-sector partners. While employees in this position work independently and take ownership of their assignments, they escalate unusual to their supervisor as needed.

Strategic Management Analyst III:

This role involves diving into complex information for various programs—compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating information to implement initiatives and program improvements. It requires frequent collaboration across all levels of the agency and regular interaction with executives, District and Division leadership, TxDOT staff, and private-sector partners. While employees in this position work independently and take ownership of their assignments, they escalate unusual to their supervisor as needed.

Essential Duties:

Strategic Management Analyst II:

  • Coordinates projects and provides general support for various agency-wide programs.
  • Collaborates extensively and proactively within STR, and other Divisions and Districts.
  • Analyzes agency processes, policy and legislation, and trends to identify and recommend solutions to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitors program performance, reports on results, coordinates program improvements.
  • May identify, develop, and implement an agency-wide program
  • May develop and implement communication and organizational change management plans
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Strategic Management Analyst III:

All the Above and:

  • Serves as a project lead for large projects or agency-wide initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strategic Management Analyst II:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3 years experience in management analysis, operations management, data analysis, program management, organizational change management, strategic planning, or related activities.
  • Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent.
  • Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Strategic Management Analyst III:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  • 4 years experience in management analysis, operations management, data analysis, program management, organizational change management, strategic planning, or related activities.
  • Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent.
  • Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
