We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Blow Mold Lead.

This position leads in the Blow Mold Department. The Blow Mold Lead Operator will be responsible for production labor staffing, efficiency, quality, and safety. This position has a working knowledge of all Blow Mold machines and will provide relief and training to operators as needed

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates production activities related to manufacture and/or assembly, testing and packing activities as required.
  • Communicates quickly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Promotes Safety, Quality and Environmental awareness. Ensure safes working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses, and property damage are reported in the required time.
  • Ensures that production activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and all non-conformances are dispositioned and approved as required.
  • Ensures employees are provided with clear instructions/training along with the correct tools and PPE required; explains and demonstrates Blow Molding procedures to employees needing assistance or reinforcement
  • Ensures all labor and machine attendance sheets are completed accurately and submitted as required.
  • Maintains housekeeping by 6S standards in the assigned work area. Work areas must be kept free and clear of trash (paper, plastic, cups, bottles, and gloves) or any items which are not necessary to perform work assignment.
  • Ensures correct Bill of Materials (BOM) and Work Order Labels are present at each process. .
  • Ensure assembly components and materials are requested and delivered from warehouse.
  • Ensures that all production is counted, tagged, and sent to the warehouse and that all unused components and materials are returned to warehouse at the end of run.
  • Monitors production quantities for color change, mold change and product completion.
  • Entry of process statistics and communication. Generate Oracle reports daily.
  • Regularly inspects part quality at the assigned machines to assure production of acceptable quality parts in preventing mass production of defective or unacceptable parts (scrap). Unacceptable parts should be re-ground and must not be palletized.
  • Writes Scrap tickets for non-conforming parts to be processed in Post Prime area, and/or oversee all scrap tickets generated during shift ensuring proper completion.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Runs all machines and auxiliary equipment as needed.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on blow molding and auxiliary equipment.
  • Seek solutions for technical problems associated with assigned processes.
  • Follows-up of trials on new processes.
  • Verifies manufacturing working documents.
  • Ensures production activities are carried out within scheduled machine and labor hours.
  • Performs process verification prior to job commencement.
  • Communicates/updates machine status and unacceptable part quality to Supervisor.
  • Follows Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year working in blow molding.
  • English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. multiple times a day during a 12-hour shift;
  • Bend and stand in difficult positions up to 12 hours; Able to manipulate tools with both hands and
  • stand for long hours. Minimum height requirement of 60 inches.
  • Work environment: Warehouse environment hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter
  • months. High noise requiring use of hearing protection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Familiarity with industrial products.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Oracle
