Position Summary:

Develops, plans, and provides support and management to activities of a Quality Improvement Initiative for the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies (TCHMB). Provides support to the TCHMB Executive Committee. Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Oversees aspects of the TCHMB Neonatal Quality Improvement Initiative activities. Sets deadlines, manages participant recruitment and tracking, and monitors initiative progress. Develops, implements, and manages the organization of initiative activities, including support of learning sessions, faculty meetings, and Executive Committee activities. This also includes tracking project status updates with consultants, supporting faculty meetings, and providing support with contractors.

2. Provides regular reports on progress, including required reports to the funder and the Executive Committee.

3. Provides support to TCHMB Executive Committee activities, such as orientation, position renewals, quarterly meeting planning, evaluation, and other required tracking needs. Providing assistance and leadership with TCHMB strategic plan and regular updates to the TCHMB Governance

4. Informs upper management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports and presentations.

5. May work closely with internal leadership regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.

6. May assist in the preparation of progress reports and supporting grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies.

7. Interacts with representatives from state and private agencies, as well as statewide decision makers regarding perinatal health. Serves as the Neonatal Committee coordinator, including scheduling regular meetings and reporting on committee updates.

8. Working in conjunction with SPH Communications and internal leadership, may create and edit various communications materials for TCHMB, which may include printed materials, web site content and/or content for newsletters.

9. Communicates with perinatal decision makers, community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares/makes oral presentations at meetings.

10. May provide support to the TCHMB Community Health Quality Improvement Initiative (STOP CS). This includes assisting with participant recruitment and tracking, supporting the workgroup meetings, and other duties as assigned.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • May require program-specific certifications.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years of applicable experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
