Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Support Coordinator for the Office of Education and Academic Affairs at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The MD/PhD Program Coordinator plays a key role in managing the administrative, operational, and student support functions of the MD/PhD dual-degree program. This position ensures the smooth execution of program activities, facilitates communication among students, faculty, and leadership, and provides support for recruitment, admissions, student affairs, and program development.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Coordinates daily operations of the MD/PhD program, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for MD/PhD students regarding program-related inquiries, academic progress, and administrative matters.
  • In collaboration with RWJMS student affairs, coordinate student registration, course enrollment, and transitions between medical and graduate school phases.
  • In collaboration with RWJMS admissions, coordinate the MD/PhD admissions process, including application review, interview scheduling, and communication with prospective students.
  • Plan and execute program events, such as orientation, research symposia, retreats, and monthly meetings.
  • Support the MD/PhD Program Director and co-directors in program administration, curriculum development and preparation of an MSTP training grant application.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, graduate school departments, and the medical school administration.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) or more years of professional experience.
