As a Software Engineer on the Amazon Live Creator and Data Services Team, you'll be at the forefront of AI innovation and scalable service development. You'll build the infrastructure powering interactive shopping experiences through our Live creator mobile app, with significant opportunities to shape our AI-driven future.

• Develop AI solutions to streamline Creator workflows

Key job responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems and RESTful APIs, focusing on high availability and fault tolerance
• Identify and implement AI-driven solutions for common development challenges
• Drive technical decisions and provide architectural guidance for complex systems serving millions of users
• Collaborate with UX designers, Product Managers, Applied Scientists, and other Software Engineers to create intuitive and seamless user experiences
• Lead performance optimization initiatives across the stack, ensuring systems meet strict latency and reliability requirements
• Mentor junior engineers, champion engineering excellence, and foster a culture of innovation and best practices

A day in the life

You will work on building features that enable AI-based tools for creators and brands, video ingestion, stream management, and content categorization to better serve our Amazon viewers with quality streams. As an AI advocate, you'll also leverage and champion various AI tools and frameworks to enhance developer productivity, automate routine tasks, and streamline development workflows. You will bring your expertise and ideas in the areas of distributed computing, scalable architecture, UI and mobile design, performance optimization, and metrics reporting to help our fast-paced business grow and evolve.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
