Maintenance Assistant Technician
Foundry
Monday–Friday / 6:00am - 2:00pm
$25.00–$30.00 BOE
This position requires candidate with mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to learning. The daily responsibilities will largely be consistent following a period of initial training.
Brief Job Description:
- Perform a variety of maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics and pneumatics, and furnaces.
- Diagnose and repair machinery & systems.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Work directly with outside vendors to order spare parts and needed supplies.
- Perform and/or assist with weekly/monthly/annual preventative maintenance tasks. Bend, cut, and thread pipe. Seal pipe joints with sealing compound. Install conduit and pull wires.
- Repair equipment. Support all building/facility requirements as directed by the supervisor. Perform and/or assist with weekly/monthly/annual EHS inspections.
- Maintains a neat and organized work area. Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor.
