This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Senior Embedded Engineer in Eindhoven with Signify.

As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you get the opportunity to design and implement advanced wireless sensor devices that are seamlessly integrated into office and industrial lighting luminaires. These devices harness the power of edge computing while collecting rich sensory data for data-driven IoT applications, accessible through web portals and mobile applications.

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting, designing, and implementing robust embedded systems that enable smart, scalable, and reliable IoT solutions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware, cloud, and application engineers to deliver innovative products to our global customers.

More about the role

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for wireless sensor devices integrated into lighting luminaires.
  • Implement embedded lighting controllers according to standards such as DALI and PWM.
  • Integrate wireless communication protocols (e.g., Zigbee, BLE) to ensure reliable data transfer to the IoT cloud.
  • Participate in hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate on sensor data acquisition strategies, data processing, and feature extraction pipelines.
  • Contribute to product architecture, documentation, and code reviews to ensure maintainability and scalability.

More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

  • BSc, MSc or PhD degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of professional work experience in embedded product development
  • Strong proficiency in C programming and familiarity with RTOS-based systems.
  • Experience working with ARM Cortex based microcontrollers and SoCs.
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols (e.g., Zigbee, BLE or Wi-Fi) and relevant stacks.
  • Working experience with Silicon Labs SoCs, Simplicity Studio and GSDK radio stack is a plus and ability to work with hardware schematics, debugging tools, and lab instrumentation. Experience with IAR embedded workbench and compiler set is a plus.
