Job Description
The Quality Performance Improvement Analyst is responsible for supporting the clinical and financial quality resource/management efforts. The Analyst designs and monitors systems data collection, reviews and coding. The Analyst performs data analysis and proposes recommendations related to processes, costs and improvements. The Analyst organizes system measurements and provides support related to inventory, training and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Designs, facilitates, and audits concurrent data collection, reviews, and coding
- Designs and implements advanced measurement systems and priorities; supports internal and external requirements including managed care, customer service, financial and clinical outcomes and processes
- Facilitates the implementation of concurrent quality assessment and coding systems
- Assures accuracy of coding, regulatory, and third-party requirements, as applicable
- Supports clinical and financial quality/resource management efforts and serves as a formal link to the Clinical Effectiveness Program and/or other performance improvement and patient safety activities
- Provides data analysis to propose recommendations for prioritization of clinical process, cost and outcome improvements
- Provides coordination, training and data support for identified patient safety activities, and/or performance improvement team's redesign efforts
- Supports team members in statistical and non-statistical tools and techniques
- Researches best practices and guidelines for evidence-based practice implementations
- Supports implementations of clinical pathways and case management systems
- Facilitates the integration of measurement and assessment data and systems
- Maintains inventory of databases and indicators/measures
- Provides statistical analysis and correlation of data for system support
- Supports corporate compliance through training and maintenance of clinical outcomes system applications and databases
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree: graduate from an accredited program in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, Finance or other field of study; Applicable experience can be used in lieu of education requirement
- Preferred: Master's Degree in a related clinical field
Experience:
- Required: Two years of experience in a healthcare setting; Two years of experience in clinical informatics, analytics, quality management, performance improvement, or risk management.
- Preferred: Experience with performance improvement processes and methodologies (PDSA, Lean/Six Sigma); data analysis; root cause analysis; healthcare failure mode effects analysis; team facilitation; clinical resource management; and database management, including database linkages and statistical applications
