JOB DUTIES

  • Provide predictive modeling support for insurer class plans and other applications
  • Plan projects, manage tasks, and communicate with project teams and clients.
  • Create marketing materials; assist clients in identifying needs and offering effective solutions; draft engagement letters; follow up with prospective clients.
  • Manage climate marketing/thought leadership and R&D
  • Support Milliman product development and respond to customer questions about Milliman products such as AccuRate Fleet and Bungalow Flood
  • Perform pre-release peer reviews and ensure Milliman quality standards are met
  • Review client predictive models and provide feedback on areas for improvement. Contribute to best practices and standards for predictive model review.
  • Identify topics for white papers; respond to RFPs for research papers; plan and manage work to draft and publish white papers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or related quantitative field
  • 4 years of experience as Data Scientist or related occupation
  • 4 years of experience in a data science role related to property and casualty insurance
  • 4 years of experience in writing clean and reproducible code in Python or R
  • 4 years of experience developing and implementing machine learning models and applying statistical concepts (e.g. hypothesis testing)
  • Experience creating client deliverables, writing technical memos, and reviewing code from junior analysts
  • Experience with version control using git
  • Experience using flood and wildfire catastrophe models
  • Experience analyzing auto telematics data

All requirements may have been satisfied concurrently.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Full time work (37.5 hours per week). Wage range of $141,000-$232,680 per year.
