About Planning and Capital Development Branch (PCD):

The Planning and Capital Development Branch (PCD) of SPR is responsible for (1) planning for the long-term maintenance and availability of all assets within Seattle’s park system, (2) designing and developing new park facilities, (3) project managing renovations and improvements to existing park facilities and (4) creating and managing capital improvement plans to support all of the above. This work is guided by considerate community partnerships and engagement and involves multi-disciplinary coordination with other departments and agencies.

About the position:

The Construction Controls & Asset Management Systems Analyst position is part of the planning team and will provide technical support for planning, asset management, and external reporting throughout the organization as SPR’s asset data expert. This position reports directly to the Construction Controls Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Studies and analyzes a variety of informational, operational and management problems to determine program and system needs; recommends solutions to meet those needs.
  • Develops or assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of automated and manual management information systems.
  • Applies management and systems analysis techniques to the solution of problems such as budget preparation, equipment and staff utilization, workload forecasting and scheduling, work methods, procedures, priorities and organizational structure.
  • Prepares comprehensive reports, a variety of correspondence and memorandums outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Analyzes training needs of users, develops training plans and materials; trains users in operating equipment, system software and system output and controls.
  • Works with outside consultants to prepare cost benefit and operations efficiency studies.
  • Prepares block diagrams, flow charts, organization charts, and other work aids.
  • Performs other duties of a comparable level/type as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Requires two years in systems, operational, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to performs the work of the class).

In addition to the above stated minimum requirements, successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Strong knowledge of SQL for querying databases. Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.
  • A strong background in Power BI, Power Query, Data Flows/Visualizations, SQL and MS Excel
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively within a multicultural, multidisciplinary workforce and serve a diverse customer base
  • Experience with construction management software systems (Procore)
  • Ability and experience writing basic SQL queries to MS SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
  • Demonstrated experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft PowerBI, Crystal Reports, Tableau, or other relevant products
  • An inherent desire to organize, document, and inform
  • A positive attitude and enjoyment of working in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Experience using Procore or an equivalent Construction Management System, ideally as a system administrator.

Additional Information

While this is a hybrid job, work is performed in an office environment. Personnel are required, at minimum, to be in the office (300 Elliot Ave W) two (2) days a week.

The full salary range for this position is $40.08 - $46.68 hourly.
