In enterprise architecture at PwC, you will focus on designing and implementing architectural solutions that align with the organisation's overall strategy and goals. Your work will involve understanding business products, business strategies and customer usage of products. You will be responsible for defining architectural principles, analysing business and technology landscapes and translating content / develop frameworks to guide technology decisions and investments. Working in this area, you will have a familiarity with business strategy, processes and experience in business solutions which enable an organisation's technology infrastructure. You will help to confirm that technology infrastructure is optimised, scalable, and aligned with business needs, enabling efficient data flow, interoperability, and agility. Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage Oracle databases on premises and in AWS RDS, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and scalability. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and implement hybrid cloud database solutions aligned with business requirements. · Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Python, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell and Terraform to automate the provisioning and configuration of a hybrid cloud database environment. · Migrate on premises databases to AWS using DMS, DMS CDC and development custom CDC scripts. · Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to define database requirements and solutions. · Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of a hybrid cloud database environment. · Support of Production environments with strong troubleshooting skills. · Implement cost optimization strategies and ensure efficient utilization of database resources. · Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities with minimal downtime and risk. · Implement and manage database backups, replication, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. · Automate the configure and manage database security policies, access controls, and encryption in compliance with industry standards and regulations. · Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and team collaboration. · Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to other team members and stakeholders to resolve database-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges in Hybrid cloud environments.

Mandatory skill sets:

• Proven working experience as a SQL Server/Oracle Database Administrator, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle and Oracle RAC. Candidates with knowledge or experience with AWS Cloud environments are preferred. · Solid understanding of Oracle performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with database security principles and best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance. · Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in hybrid cloud environments. · Experience with agile methodologies. · Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred skill sets:

• Knowledge of AWS services, particularly AWS RDS and related cloud technologies. · Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform for automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and management. · Knowledge of Python, Bash, Ansible and PowerShell scripting for automation, orchestration, and integration tasks. · Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). · Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database - Specialty are a plus.
