JOB SUMMARY:

Repair, maintain all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and water equipment in and on the facility. Install new equipment, and mechanical systems such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and water. Must be able to use lifting devices such as cranes and booms. Must be able to fabricate and complete projects within a timeline. Work to a preventative maintenance program, and work within a team of maintenance personnel to repair, troubleshoot and maintain injection molding equipment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All work must be performed in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with Company

Policy, local, provincial and/or federal rules and regulations and the Collective Agreement;

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Awareness and understanding of Environmental Policy (ISO 14001) and Quality Policy (TS 16949) guidelines and how the position’s responsibilities impacts on environment and quality;
  • Shows leadership to the workforce by his/her decision-making skills, motivational efforts, fairness and consistency so that employees are well aware of their performance and individual importance in the department;
  • Ensures personnel performing work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of on-going training, appropriate education, skills and experience;
  • Performs other duties as required by Manager/Supervisor to keep pace with changes in the scope of work.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and can be directed by Maintenance and operation supervisors;
  • Responsible for keeping equipment safe and reporting any unsafe practices;
  • Completes assigned work in a timely manner;
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, assessing and rectifying breakdowns;
  • Must show initiative in the constant improvement of process and safety;
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance on assigned equipment;
  • Must keep work areas clean and safe;
  • Must record time and specifics in the maintenance log book and start and end downtime in the production system;
  • Must have some Hydraulic experience and be able to troubleshoot Hydraulic systems;
  • Read and Decipher blueprints pertaining to equipment and building;
  • Responsible for the reporting of issues identified on equipment pertaining to but not withstanding equipment and building electrical or mechanical;
  • Other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3rd/ 4th year Apprentice - 433A Industrial Millwright, registered with Skilled Trades Ontario
  • Certification of Apprenticeship

EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED TRAINING:

  • Must possess valid fork lift with propane handling certification;
  • Certified crane operation;
  • Must successfully complete lock-out and fall arrest training;
  • Must successfully complete aerial lift training.

RECOMMENDED TRAINING: WHMIS.
