• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• Experience in content safety or threat intelligence, as applied to software products.
• Experience in Responsible AI or safety-adjacent fields, such as factuality, or product policy.

Intelligence Systems provides solutions to anticipate and discover novel threats to Google’s products and users that exploit gaps in product features and policies. Our solutions enable Google products to protect themselves from those threats and in turn protect their users from threats such as fraud, harmful content, and disinformation. We do this through: comprehensive, low-latency collection of the right useful information, symbiotic human/system interactions for rapid, high-quality analysis , efficient dissemination paths for human-facing research products and machine-facing systems integrations, standardized loops from that dissemination back into collection plus analysis for continual measurement and improvement.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a global team of engineers building threat intelligence solutions to safeguard business-critical products that represent significant business, market share or strategic value to Google, including GenAI-based experiences.
• Bring a mix of high-scale distributed systems engineering skills, sharp product insight, and machine learning experience to design, build, maintain and scale threat intelligence solutions that include rules, vector databases, scalable classifiers, multimodal understanding, large models, flexible UIs, and content processing pipelines. These services are used by products across Google to make their users’ experiences safer.
• Lead key areas of work for your team, design and implement projects that involve multiple engineers over multiple quarters.
• Collaborate with colleagues across North America, Europe and LATAM. Be accountable for delivering high-quality, future-proof and performant threat intelligence solutions.
