Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced aerospace environment. This role requires expertise in operating machinery, particularly band saws, and sit-down forklifts, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to read tape measures accurately. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in metal fabrication and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate band saws to cut steel materials according to specifications.
  • Use sit-down forklifts to manage and transport materials within the facility.
  • Ensure visual quality control of materials and products.
  • Accurately apply metal to customer orders and process material as per work order specifications.
  • Maintain processing equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Keep the processing area clean, safe, and orderly.
  • Complete all required information entry accurately.
  • Learn to operate aluminum saws, cutting materials ranging from .019 to 10 inches.
  • Participate in training and work alongside experienced trainers to become proficient in machinery operation.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with band saw operation, specifically in steel cutting.
  • Proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret tape measures.
  • Visual quality control skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong attendance and work history with regards to tenure.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on your feet.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and operating machinery.

Work Environment

Work in a large raw material supplier facility where materials are stored, cut, and shipped to customers. The environment is fast-paced, with over 60 employees on the floor. Shift options include 2nd and 3rd shifts, offering different working hours and compensation benefits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $24.25/hr.
