The Department of Statistical Science at Baylor University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting in Fall 2026 at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Mid-career candidates with a strong record of scholarly achievement and a record of significant external funding may be considered at the Associate Professor level.

The successful applicant will join our dynamic faculty in helping to advance our core mission to provide quality statistics instruction at all levels, to make significant contributions to the discovery and dissemination of statistical knowledge, and to develop, within a Christian environment, ethical scholars, skilled professionals, and educated leaders who are sensitive to the needs of society. Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain external funding to support their program of research at a level consistent with those at peer R1 institutions. Faculty in the Department are supportive and eager to collaborate.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in statistics or a related discipline by the time of the appointment.

We prefer candidates with:

  • Demonstrated research interests and accomplishments in data science and/or biostatistics.
  • A sustained record of research excellence and demonstrated potential for continued research productivity.
  • The ability and interest to teach undergraduate and graduate students, and to provide research mentorship to students in our doctoral program.

Candidates applying at the Associate Professor rank must have research and scholarly accomplishments commensurate with an appointment for an advanced rank.
