Position

Title: Junior Technical Program Manager

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Riverbed is looking for a Junior Technical Program Manager to manage the product development and implementation process. The role will coordinate deliverables and activities of cross-functional and cross-geographic teams while monitoring the project/program from initiation through delivery and ensuring completion on schedule and within budget.

What you will do

  • Primary point of contact for project sponsor and cross-functional teams to clearly identify their involvement, provide guidance and manage risks while overseeing mitigation/contingency planning.
  • Demonstrates the ability to discuss tasks in a manner which gives guidance and best practices but does not dictate implementation.
  • Creates and drives the project schedule working with the project/program core team to manage progress.
  • Tracks the status of project activities and ensures that schedules and priorities are being met.
  • Ensures critical issues are identified, tracked through resolution, and escalated if necessary.
  • Manages daily/weekly project communication and status reporting and follows up on meeting minutes/action items.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and inefficiencies to implement changes in a spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Have flexibly working across time zones to help coordinate and follow up.

What makes you an ideal candidate

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work closely with cross-functional teams to administer deliverables effectively using an agile methodology.
  • Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the organization.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a program/project management capacity using a SDLC.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional and cross-geographical teams.
  • Ability to drive adherence in accordance to an organization processes.
  • Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team.
  • Must exhibit attention to detail and be able to make logical, timely decisions.
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
  • Ability to provide teams with valuable summations around action items and next steps.
