Site Reliability Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on our team, you will play a critical part in ensuring our systems and services’ reliability, scalability, and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, cloud infrastructure, and security, to deliver resilient, observable, and compliant solutions in AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud environments.

This role also requires applying your consultative and technical expertise to support cloud initiatives with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), contributing to secure, mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, enabling precise and effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including federal clients, internal teams, and external partners. Your ability to articulate complex technical concepts, drive decisions, and coordinate across teams is essential to success in this role.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or DevOps roles
  • Experience with hands-on monitoring or observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, CloudWatch, or PagerDuty
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and sustainment, using tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, or Docker
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration using Amazon EKS
  • Experience with hands-on cloud platforms, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting issues and supporting change and problem management processes
  • Knowledge of system performance, scalability, and reliability engineering best practices
  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • HS diploma or GED and 18+ years of experience in engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and 10+ years of experience in engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
