University of Maryland Baltimore is currently seeking a Developer, IT Enterprise Application – Associate to join the School of Medicine - Centers/Programs/ORCs. This position accomplishes responsibilities by applying specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts of AI/ML, acquired through advanced education or specialized training. Resolves issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. Contributes to the development and evaluation of goals and objectives. Creates solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. May supervise, mentor, or coordinate the work of others. Demonstrates initiative and discretion to resolve routine and non-routine matters.

PRIMARY DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field
Experience: Prior knowledge and experience with ERP software packages (e.g. PeopleSoft/Oracle, Banner, etc.), or other enterprise-wide application software (e.g. COEUS, Maximus ERS) preferred.
Preferred Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in developing machine learning and deep learning models. Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, or PyTorc. Experience with GPU programming and optimization for model training and inference. Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. Prior experience working with clinical or healthcare data is a plus.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning principles and techniques. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia. Ability to work with large datasets and real-time data streams. Skill in effective use of AI/ML tools and frameworks.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work cooperatively in a team and independently. HIRING RANGE: $73,000 - $81,000, commensurate with education and experience.
