The primary mission of the Research Security Office is to assure research security at Indiana University.

Job Summary

Indiana University Research Security Office seeks part-time security guards for the construction phase of its Applied Research Center (ARC), a secure research facility focused on supporting national defense research and development.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Preferred

  • Hold and maintain a valid national security eligibility determination (i.e., a security clearance) at the SECRET level or higher

SKILLS

Required

  • Proficient communication skills

Working Conditions / Demands

A person in this role must require the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires the ability to move around the facility for extended periods. Exposure to sensitive and confidential information requiring discretion and professionalism.

ARC security guards must provide their own transportation to and from the site.

This position requires the ability to attend paid training provided by IU Research.

Additional Information

This project will require ARC security guards beginning on or around August 1, 2025.

Advertised Salary

$18.00 per hour

Work Hours

4 hour shifts

May work up to 29 hours per week
