We are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join Zions Bancorporation. Data Analytics Engineers help us acquire and process data from Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and other data repositories and position it to support financial or analytical reporting. This role wears multiple hats acting as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, and Business Analyst in different projects. This Data Analytics Engineer is expected to become a SME in banking information in partnership with the Financial Analysts and other database specialists.
The Data Analytics Engineer will:
- Architect, design and orchestrate data systems, processes, and automation that support financial data analytics.
- Work closely with financial product owners to gather data requirements; align their needs with source data capabilities; build custom framework and data architect or upgrade existing data processes.
- Investigate various sources such as Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake, analyze, map and transform the data to troubleshoot and research financial data issues.
- Test, validate, and reconcile data attributes based both on source data and results from financial reports to assure the data accurately reflects the source system and business needs.
- Mentor financial analysts and operation analysts to explain data, data scope, impact of data changes to help them drive their analytics and reporting.
- Create and maintain clear, detailed, and accurate metadata documentation.
- Conduct tests or test planning sessions, provide input for feasibility and prepare user documentation and follow-up evaluations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years’ experience in data analytics/data engineering.
- Must have in depth SQL background.
- Experience with creating business intelligence solutions (SAP Business Object Reports, Power BI).
- Hands-on experience with Python or PySpark including data processing, analysis, and ETL pipeline development
- Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others at all levels of technical expertise.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other technical discipline. Masters preferred. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

This Data Engineer position is currently not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.
Salary Range (Depending on Experience): 80,000-95,000
