Our work depends on Virtualization / VMware Administrator joining our team to support the Command IT Services (CITS) contract for USCENTCOM in Tampa, Florida. This role is critical for maintaining a robust, secure, and highly available VMware-based infrastructure essential for command operations.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • VMware Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines.
  • Performance & Optimization: Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Network Virtualization: Implement and manage VMware networking (distributed switches, VLANs, security policies).
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex virtualization issues (performance, connectivity, failures).
  • Maintenance & Patching: Perform regular maintenance, updates, and security patching.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Work with other IT teams to design integrated infrastructure solutions.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation of virtualization architecture and procedures. Mentor junior admins.
  • Disaster Recovery: Contribute to backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Technology Evaluation: Research and recommend new VMware technologies.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Active DoD 8140/8570 compliant certification
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Expertise in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter Server)
    • Solid understanding of virtualization concepts and best practices.
    • Experience with vSAN and vSphere Networking.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in technical documentation.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • VMware Horizon (VDI) experience.
    • Automation tools (Ansible, PowerCLI) familiarity.
    • USCENTCOM/DoD experience.
  • Location: On site in Tampa, FL
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI clearance is required.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
