Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Machinist

Job Description

An aerospace manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Machinist skilled in working with a variety of materials including aluminum alloys, copper alloys (such as Beryllium Copper), stainless steel, high heat-treat materials, titanium, lightweight composites, and phenolics and plastics.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of aerospace components.
  • Set up and operate Mill/Turn machines (Integrex, WFL) and various CNC Mills (3-5 axis).
  • Perform First Article inspections using mechanical inspection tools and adjust setups or NC code using Mazac, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.
  • Complete inspection reports and document critical quality information as necessary.
  • Collaborate with programmers to optimize setups and fixturing.
  • Document tool and machine setup after First Article approval.
  • Communicate effectively with managers, production control, engineering, quality, and other shop personnel to support and resolve issues.
  • Train co-workers as requested, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, complying with all 5S initiatives.
  • Advise Production Supervisor of maintenance problems needing resolution.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Document and track time through the ERP system as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in operating and setting up Mill/Turn machines (e.g., Integrex, WFL) and multi-axis CNC Mills (3-5 axis).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using mechanical inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) for First Article and in-process inspections.
  • Skilled in editing and optimizing controls (Fanuc, Siemens) for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with tooling, fixturing, and setup documentation processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
