On-site, IT System Engineer, Coventry - 12 month FTC
The role of OnSite Engineer within CDW Field Service Engineering is to provide onsite services for BAU and various ad-hoc engagements. Deliver onsite services to a specific customer on one or multiple sites within the contract.
The OnSite Engineer will Provision on-site basic hardware support, PC and Laptop imaging, Helpdesk, Desktop support, VC Support, Printer support, Installations, move and changes, and 1st / 2nd line support.
Be eligible for Security Clearance and adhere to CDW policies.
Flexibility - Travel required - Car Allowance provided (Covering the midlands)
The IT Field Engineer will be responsible for the on-site support requirement from the IT department this can be anything from hardware installs, Infrastructure changes, Network changes, software installs & IT Projects. The role is site based and you will need to be able to travel between the site so driving license is essential. You are required to help the service department on ticketing queues for the field department.
Accountabilities
- Adherence of the IT Service SLA’s
- Incident management and problem management
- Responsible for site visits and maintenance of on-site IT Infrastructure
- Help in supporting the ServiceDesk and IT Infrastructure systems
- Management and support of IT Infrastructure systems
- Management and support of IT Security system
- Identifying and raising risks and issues while on sites
- Build good working relationship with on-site users and management
- Working with the Service leads to plan work in
Specific requirements
- Extensive experience working within an IT Service\Infrastructure Team
- An understanding of modern IT Infrastructure and Supporting users
- Ability to think on your feet and manage busy workloads
- Good Communication skills
- Experience in IT hardware installations
- Experience in maintaining on site comms rooms equipment
- An understanding of modern infrastructure practices
- Experience in Microsoft 365\Azure services
- Experience in Basic Networking and Switch management
- Flexibility to be able to travel and work out of hours
- Driving License and Transport required
- ITIL Foundation qualified (desirable)
