Laboratory IT Project Manager

Cognizant Technology is seeking a Laboratory Project Manager who could join our team of professionals in a permanent role.

Location: East Hanover, New Jersey(Hybrid)

Job Description:

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution
  • Develop detailed project plans that outline tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies specific to Lab IT initiatives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams—including lab scientists, IT specialists, data managers, and vendors—to establish project objectives and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress, address bottlenecks, and adjust schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • Manage the project budget, allocating resources efficiently and forecasting future needs based on evolving project scope.
  • Utilise project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) as appropriate for the technical and operational context.
  • Understanding Laboratory Operations
  • In-depth knowledge of scientific workflows, laboratory instruments, and data management requirements.
  • Ability to tailor IT solutions to support research, diagnostics, and quality control functions in compliance with industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Laboratory Sciences, or related technical field.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Scrum Master) are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in managing Lab IT projects, including LIMS, ELN, instrument integration, and data analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and validation processes.
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality and compliance.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until July 16th 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $66,896 K -$132,500 K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans
