Job Title: Project/Program Manager I

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Project/Program Manager responsible for coordinating and completing projects/programs. The role involves overseeing all project aspects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress. You will prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of projects/programs. The position may require a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or a related area. Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures is essential. You will rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, perform a variety of tasks, and lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Design review and ordering shelving
  • Installing and overseeing the installation of new shelving through third-party contractors
  • Ensuring all work meets permitted standards and food health safety standards
  • Preparing buildings to be turned over to operations for live pickup products
  • Overseeing on-site execution while working night shifts (7 PM to 4 AM)
  • Managing third-party labor teams
  • Executing a specific phasing plan and ensuring it is completed entirely each night
  • Escalating any issues that arise during the night's work or forecasting potential issues
  • Maintaining in-depth communication between site operations and leadership
  • Retrofitting existing grocery buildings to meet new design requirements and customer needs
  • Working in a live operational environment, making changes to buildings while they are running without impacting customer or associate experience

Essential Skills

  • Must live near a major airport/metropolitan city
  • Ability to read composite drawings
  • Proficiency in using computers, Microsoft products, smart sheets, BIM360, Bluebeam, and CAD
  • Strong communication skills and ability to make decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 4-7 years of project management experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in construction, grocery, or major retail construction is preferred
  • Financial acumen with experience in financial analysis
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Experience in engineering, construction management, project management, or design review

Work Environment

This role offers a unique opportunity to travel across the US, engaging with live operational environments and complexities beyond typical grocery stores or retailers. The position provides an exceptional chance to learn about different brands of shelving and manufacturers. The work environment emphasizes leadership principles such as bias for action, earning trust, and ownership. The role involves extensive travel within the continental United States, potentially anywhere from Seattle to Florida, requiring candidates to live close to a major airport for easier travel arrangements. You will be prepared to travel Monday through Friday for the duration of a 9-month assignment, excluding major federal holidays, focusing on retrofitting grocery buildings to meet new design requirements and customer needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $37.00/hr.
