Job Description

The CNP Technologist II functions as the multi-skilled component of the neurodiagnostic laboratories’ technical staff performing electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials, Autonomic and/or Nerve Conduction Studies. The technologists are responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment and must demonstrate competency, skill and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing in the area of hire. Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently.

As our Mayo Clinic Neurology department continues to grow in innovation, education, and technology, we are looking for amazing Neurodiagnostic Technologists to join our team. This position can be filled by a Tech I, II or III.

Our technologists are responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment, and must demonstrate minimum competency, skill, and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing in the area of hire.

Qualifications

Tech I

High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited institution for neurodiagnostic technology or 2 years equivalent neurodiagnostic tech experience. Associate’s degree preferred. Computer skills required. Must have demonstrated communication, problem solving, and organizational ability. Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire. The Registry Examination should be attempted as soon as the employee is eligible. Must have current certification in Basic Life Support.

Tech II

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of Neurodiagnostics experience. Associate’s degree preferred.Computer skills required. Demonstrated leadership abilities including above average communication skills (verbal and written). Demonstrated ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs.Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to apply. Registries include specific certification through ABRET – Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.). Must have current certification in Basic Life Support.

Tech III

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of Neurodiagnostics experience. Associate’s degree preferred. Computer skills required. Demonstrated leadership abilities including above average communication skills (verbal and written). Compensation range: Tech I: $28.24 - $42.40 / hour Tech II: $29.94 - $44.97 / hour Tech III: $31.79 - $47.71 / hour
