Apple is seeking a versatile and diligent engineering manager who will bring their software engineering and leadership expertise to the Apple Cloud team within the Apple Services Engineering organization. Your responsibilities will involve close collaboration with numerous cross-functional teams throughout Apple, spanning from client and server teams to security and privacy teams.

Description

As a high-leverage team, we are responsible for designing, building, and scaling Apple’s privacy-centric platform, which enables many of Apple’s signature applications and user experiences. Our work significantly impacts over a billion users and is crucial to the success of Apple’s growth in services. We are currently growing our team, and you will have the exclusive opportunity to contribute to shaping our culture and processes. In this role, you will: • Collaborate effectively to resolve intricate challenges, with the potential to develop innovative solutions • Contribute to the evolution of our design and architecture to support the ongoing growth of our compute platform • Develop the next generation of cloud platform that powers Apple Intelligence Private Cloud Compute • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Apple to design and implement features and functionalities that enable novel experiences within the Apple ecosystem and Apple Intelligence

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
  • A robust software engineering track record, particularly in the development of distributed systems at scale
  • Proven hands-on experience in software development, specifically in Java and Golang, with a background in building high-scale services
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinking, coupled with meticulous attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven project management abilities to effectively apply in your engineering management role
  • Proficiency in operating and developing infrastructure and services within public cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with diverse groups of individuals, including varying levels of management
  • Ability to work with incomplete requirements and balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to independently learn new technologies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $188,200 and $325,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
