Job Title: Travel Field Service Manager (Site Installation)

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Manager to oversee conveyor system installation and maintenance projects at client sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. This role requires you to communicate project status, risks, and issues to clients and internal teams, provide hands-on assistance to Millwrights & Electricians, and supervise on-site project teams for project and client compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage conveyor system installation and maintenance projects at client sites.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to clients and internal teams.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to Millwrights & Electricians on client sites.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Supervise on-site project teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Resolve any project-related issues and develop contingency plans.
  • Supervise and instruct field service technicians to ensure scope of work is met on time and budget.
  • Provide training and support to clients on conveyor system operations and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in management, preferably in the conveyor industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to client sites, up to 90% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Post high school certification or degree in machining preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in precision metal working machinery.
  • Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Adequate skill to navigate and work within company’s ERP and CRM software.
  • Experience with Intralox Sorters is a plus.
  • Proficient to excellent typing skills are required.

Work Environment

The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts at client sites, including Amazon facilities where safety requirements must be followed. You will be on the road frequently, necessitating a willingness to travel for extended periods, typically 30-60 days at a time. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Clinton, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
