Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the operation of CNC Mills and Lathes, including Makino and other brands. This role involves setting up specific programs for both Mills and Lathes using basic G and M codes. You will utilize programs such as Mastercam, Solidworks, Mazatrol, and Conversational programming to perform mechanical changes with hand tools for different tooling heads. Accurate reading and application of blueprints are required for machine setup and quality checks of parts. You will use various measuring tools to ensure products meet client standards, and document all actions in company systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC Mills and Lathes efficiently.
  • Set up and program CNC machines using basic G and M codes.
  • Perform mechanical changes with hand tools for tooling heads.
  • Read and apply blueprints for machine setup and quality checks.
  • Utilize measuring tools to ensure product standards are met.
  • Document actions and operations in company systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in operating CNC Mills and Lathes.
  • Knowledge of basic G and M codes.
  • Experience with Mastercam, Solidworks, Mazatrol, and Conversational programming.
  • Ability to perform mechanical changes with hand tools.
  • Skill in reading and using blueprints for setups and checks.
  • Competence in using measuring tools for quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-year CNC degree or 2 years of CNC Mill or Lathe operation and setup experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is a foundry, which can be hot, noisy, and occasionally smelly. However, it is equipped with an excellent ventilation system. The CNC department is located in a separate section of the building, which is much cooler and has minimal exposure to the foundry conditions.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
