Job Title: Mold Setter - 3rd Shift

Job Description

This role involves starting presses, responding to operator call lights, assisting with shift set-up, and ensuring each job is properly set up before production begins. The position may act as a back-up supervisor when the shift supervisor is unavailable. Responsibilities include ensuring machine efficiency and shift utilization by promptly setting and processing molds. You will ensure all necessary equipment and personnel are ready for molding jobs each day, maintain proper operation methods, processing, communication, documentation, and defect identification, and perform basic machine maintenance. Adjustments to machines will be made in accordance with engineering and quality guidelines, customer requirements, and machine capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Review schedule for upcoming jobs.
  • Confirm tools are prepared for upcoming changes.
  • Complete mold changes per Mattec and start-up (two mold changes per shift), ensuring safety with hard hats and machine lockout.
  • Confirm cycle is running to standard; notify supervisor if not.
  • Complete start-up paperwork and submit first shot to Quality Leader.
  • Clean and organize machine area after setup: waterlines, airlines, clamps, bolts, etc.
  • Return molds to racks.
  • Complete daily mold maintenance sheets and PCLs.
  • Answer alarms and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Perform daily audits to ensure setup verifications, process adjustment logs, and necessary documents are completed as specified.
  • Maintain proper operation methods, processing, communication, documentation, and defect identification.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments for production with consideration of engineering, quality guidelines, customer requirements, and machine capabilities.
  • Set tools following processes or established procedures as needed.
  • Ensure proper department housekeeping by maintaining tools and accessory equipment in their proper place.
  • Participate in internal or external courses to develop or broaden processing or tool-setting skills.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of injection mold processing experience.
  • 2+ years of mold or die setting experience.
  • Knowledge of molding process, secondary operations, and standard processes.
  • Understanding of process flow, overhead crane operation, forklift operation, documentation process, process tech, mold setter, mold setup, tooling maintenance, and injection mold.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Exposure to RJG processes.
  • Certified to operate overhead crane.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience in process engineering.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean shop with injection and blow molding capabilities. The facility is open and spacious, climate-controlled, and very pristine. You will be part of a team of four on this shift, including two process technicians and one in training. Working hours are 3rd shift from 11:00pm to 7:00am, Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
