We are looking for an experienced Analytical Operations Manager to lead our end-to-end laboratory, sampling, and logistics operations. This is a high-impact role within our Quality, Environment and Assurance business unit, reporting to the Head of Science.

You will be accountable for leadership of the entire sample planning and scheduling process, together with all sampling and logistics operations and all analytical functions. You will ensure the delivery of a robust, agile, and high-quality service, providing 24/7 support to our customers. Your strength of leadership will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, making Anglian Water a great place to work.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of a 24/7 laboratory operation, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance
  • Oversee all sampling, scheduling, and analytical functions across a large, geographically dispersed team
  • Ensure impartiality in all regulatory activities and uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity
  • Driving the safety of the team forwards and putting safety at the heart of what we do
  • Drive continuous improvement in service quality, cost efficiency, and technical excellence
  • Foster a culture of accountability, and professional development across your teams

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience within a regulated laboratory environment with a scientific degree
  • Solid leadership of large, diverse and technical teams; bringing inspiration and team development
  • Evidence of driving health, safety and wellbeing of teams forwards
  • Stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence at multiple levels
  • Effective logistical and operational planning capabilities
  • Calm and decisive under pressure
