Job Summary:
Manages continuing health professional education programs and activities for all UMMC schools from inception to conclusion, ensuring compliance with accreditation criteria. Creates and oversees activity budget, facilitates session logistics and serves as liaison between schools, participants, and presenters.

Knowledge of accreditation standards and criteria for accreditation organizations that support numerous healthcare disciplines including physicians, dentists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, physical and occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and others as needed. Knowledge of budgeting and cost control procedures for high dollar continuing education events/ activities. Knowledge of educational grant procedures that support continuing education. Knowledge of the adult learning model and educational principles. Exemplary professional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with high profile speakers, donors, exhibitors, vendors, and contractual personnel at venues. Critical thinking skills and decision making capabilities. Detail-oriented and the ability to manage numerous activities concurrently in various planning phases.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees and demonstrates compliance with accreditation criteria and standards for all disciplines supported with no management oversight. Explains requirements and methods for compliance to customers as needed. Maintains all documentation required by accreditors and plans activities in accordance with CHPE and accreditation standards.
- Creates proposed budget and regularly apprises planning committee of the budgetary impact of actual expenses and income with the goal of ensuring event revenue is enough to cover all event expenses with minimal management oversight. Leads budgetary discussions at planning meetings with minimal to no management oversight.
- Analyzes activity leadership needs and autonomously serves as a resource and collaborator in planning and executing high quality continuing education activities with little to no management oversight.
- Oversees scheduling and planning continuing education activities. Serves as logistics leader and manages reserving space, ordering catering, speaker coordination, and resolves all administrative or logistical issues prior to the event.
- Collects and maintains applicable participant, continuing education credit, and financial data related to accreditation reporting and budget reconciliation with no management oversight.
- Researches and writes educational grant proposals autonomously. Solicits and secures additional external funding support from exhibitors or other donors as required to meet activity budgetary needs.
- Integrates knowledge of adult learning principles and educational design when planning continuing education activities. Leads educational design discussions at planning meetings as needed.
