The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites applications for a Research Assistant position to contribute meaningfully to an interdisciplinary project funded by NTU. This project explores how communication influences public understanding and acceptance of novel food technologies in Singapore.
About the Project:
“UNIQUE” (Understanding Diverse Dietary Groups’ Perceptions and AcceptaNce of Novel Foods In Singapore: A QUalitative InvEstigation) investigates how diverse dietary groups in Singapore—such as vegetarians, non-vegetarians, and individuals with or without food allergies—perceive novel foods, including plant-based, cultivated, and genetically modified foods. Using evidence-based, qualitative research methods, the project aims to understand the psychological, sociocultural, and media-related factors shaping these perceptions, as well as to identify and address common misperceptions. Findings will inform public communication strategies and contribute to communicating novel food technologies in Singapore.
