Senior Software Developer
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Senior Software Developer with 8 years experience in to place at our client, a Big Five Bank.
Client: Big Five Bank
Terms: 12 Month Contract
Location: Hybrid, Downtown Toronto – 1,2 days in office.

Summary: The Software Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. This role involves creating the software platform and fine-tuning the final program post-development.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a relevant field required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specification authoring, development, testing, and delivery.
Proficiency in troubleshooting issues and implementing system changes as needed.
Expertise in computer development software such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Consult with engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, and resolve customer problems.
Advise customers on software system maintenance or perform maintenance tasks directly.
Develop and oversee software system testing and validation procedures.
Communicate project status, proposals, and technical issues related to software system design and maintenance to customers or other departments.
Direct software programming and documentation development.
