About this opportunity:

As a Data Scientist in the HWM Data Management & Visualization team, you play a pivotal role in transforming Ericsson’s internal data into strategic assets. Your work directly supports digital transformation, operational efficiency, and innovation across the organization. The Data Scientist provides advise to decision makers by outlining both causes and remedies to business problems. The Data Scientist will be developing our data and analytics portfolios towards our internal business stakeholders and work with establishing and building data products.

What you will do:

  • Drive business data and analytics requirements
    • Understand the underlying business problem to define the required data and appropriate analysis.
    • Support with process and data expertise in business analysis assignments and validates data availability and quality
    • Support in building, qualifying, and managing the funnel of data and analytics opportunities towards stakeholders in the digital product engagements
    • Advise on structuring data products to meet business needs, self-service analytics capabilities, and reading of data for AI/ML/automation use-cases, i.e. making data views fit for purpose.
  • Perform data analytics assignments
    • Collect, process, evaluat, and aggregate data from various sources to base analysis upon
    • Work with data architects and engineers to build datasets used for analysis, and identify based on expertise in the data domain needs for new data objects to enhance analytics outcomes
    • Perform data modeling and analysis using the applicable statistical model, when required together with data scientists and engineers
    • Prototyping and data storyboarding
  • Validation of analysis results
    • Pressure-test/validate data model logic and algorithms from a business perspective
    • Interprerate, visualize, and present results of the data analysis using appropriate techniques to enable actionable insights for business

The skills you bring:

Core Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in languages like Python, SQL and BASH-scripting.
  • Experience in using Unix/Linux when it comes to cron-jobs, BASH-scripting etc.
  • Strong skills in using Jupyter Notebooks and Pandas for data manipulation and analysis in Python.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating databases.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of database design and optimization.
  • Understanding and experience with ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in using version control systems such as Git for code collaboration and tracking changes.

Analytical and Statistical Skills

  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools like Power BI and Matplotlib to communicate insights effectively
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
  • Ability to perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and insights in data.

Soft Skills

  • Communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers.
  • Adaptability and learning mindset
