Summary of Performance Expectations:
Decontaminates instruments and hospital equipment. Cleans, assembles packages & sterilizes instrumentation and supplies for age appropriate patient care. Assist with receiving of daily departmental supplies attention to inventory control as stated by Sterile Processing Director or Supervisor. Will perform other duties as directed by Sterile Processing Director or Supervisor.
Education & Credentials:
Required
High School diploma or equivalent. Certification in Sterile Processing. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Preferred
Certified Sterile Processing Technician. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Work Experience:
Required
No previous experience required in sterile processing. Will train in basic job proficiencies. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred
6 months of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
