Position Summary:
The Distribution Center Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity within the warehouse management system. This role is critical in supporting inventory accuracy, reducing shrink, and improving order fulfillment rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and ad-hoc cycle counts of inventory in designated warehouse zones.
- Accurately record inventory counts using handheld scanners, tablets, or paper logs.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
- Coordinate with inventory control, receiving, and shipping teams to verify transactions and ensure data accuracy.
- Assist in root cause analysis for inventory errors and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned counting areas.
- Support physical inventory processes and audits as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Report significant variances and operational issues to management promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or logistics role preferred.
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and handheld RF scanners.
- Ability to read and interpret product labels, pick tickets, and inventory reports.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and work in varying warehouse conditions.
