Description

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Data Engineer (GIS) opening for our client in Findlay, OH.

Location: Findlay, OH, Denver, CO or San Antonio, TX

Duration: 12 months, with possibility for extension

Duties:

  • Design, innovate, and optimize data extraction, ingestion, and transformation processes.
  • Develop complex data architecture for processing and storing high-volume datasets.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated data pipelines and implement data security/privacy measures.
  • Perform complex data quality and processing using open-source and cloud services.
  • Serve as a technical resource during critical incidents and troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Champion best practices in data governance, security, integration, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead continuous improvements in data engineering methodologies and ensure project consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT product lines and business partners, to deliver GIS-driven analytics and mapping solutions.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing and technical planning.

Skills:

  • Expertise with GIS platforms and tools, including ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, Portal, GeoEvent Server, Field Maps, and Survey123.
  • Strong experience with enterprise geodatabases (SDEs), spatial data management, and spatial analysis.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, REST API, JavaScript API, Experience Builder.
  • Experience with standard GIS data models such as ESRI’s Utility Network, PODS, or UPDM.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly Azure, and operating GIS platforms within them.
  • Skilled in ETL development using FME Desktop or Server.
  • Experience developing custom GIS and mobile GIS applications.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Data governance, privacy, and security practices
    • Metadata management, data modeling, and integration
    • Data warehousing, DevOps, and NoSQL databases
    • Real-time data processing and general programming
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle and quality management practices.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant data engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in an IT role with GIS responsibilities using tools such as ESRI’s ArcGIS.
  • Proven experience in developing and supporting GIS ETL operations and enterprise GIS solutions.
  • Previous Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, GIS, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $150,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
