About Tax Technology & Data at Walmart

The Tax Technology and Data team at Walmart drives innovation by integrating advanced tools and systems into our global tax operations. We collaborate across departments to streamline processes, ensure compliance, and deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making. This role plays a vital part in enhancing operational efficiency and enabling Walmart to meet its complex tax obligations at scale.

What you'll do...

  • Data Research & Analysis: Perform detailed data research and analysis of large financial data sets; troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues.
  • Project Management: Support and independently drive Tax technology projects; manage project prioritization, document requirements, create timelines, and communicate trade-offs with business partners.
  • Technology Deployment: Deploy IT initiatives for the Tax function; prototype, develop, implement, and test systems; deliver training programs for new technology solutions.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with global Tax teams to create and implement scalable processes; align technology requirements with core Tax department needs.

What you’ll bring:

  • BS degree in Data, Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years’ working experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master plus 5 years’ work experience) in tax, accounting, data analysis or related field
  • Proficiency at querying relational databases (SQL) and ability to pull data from multiple
  • Experience with VBA, Python, R, and/or Machine Learning Skills
  • Ability to explain financial/technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses
  • Experience with large data sets, data reconciliation, data modeling, and large-scale data warehouses

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and 3 years’ experience in accounting, finance, income tax

compliance, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance, income tax compliance, or related area.

1 years' supervisory experience.
