PROJECT SUMMARY:

Our clients Data Office is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Developer to join its growing team. The Data Office is leading a central Data Modernization program that will include new central data capabilities, as well as improvements and coordination with its 12 constituent agencies. Under the direction of the Director of Data Strategy and working closely with teams, the Artificial Intelligence Developer will support the design, development and implementation of AI-Powered solutions. The initial focus will be on supporting pilot use cases, proof of concept projects and providing insights that can be leveraged to create best practices and training.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Artificial Intelligence Developer will support the Data Office in its efforts to better achieve our mission through the adoption of AI. The Artificial Intelligence Developer will provide input on best practices and potential efficiencies, work on multiple assignments concurrently to meet aggressive due dates. The Artificial Intelligence Developer will use a range of expert technical skills based on a keen knowledge of generative artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts (GenAI/ML), and must be proficient with AWS AI tools, SQL, Python, R, Snowflake and/or other GenAI/ML Tools. This resource needs to have hands on experience developing, deploying and maintaining AI tools/systems. This resource will also be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the development of requirements as agencies move ahead with moving proven test cases into production. In the initial stages of the engagement, the Artificial Intelligence Developer will be expected to work with business teams to develop proof of concept solutions, provide subject matter expertise while gathering requirements and communicate effectively to ensure strong stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a maturing landscape and can use their developer skills and business understanding to create viable and valuable solutions.

DETAILED LIST OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop AI models, algorithms and applications to solve specific problems
• Research new AI technologies and prototype innovative AI applications
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations in AI projects
• Safeguard AI solutions follow ethical guidelines and regulations
• Preprocessing, analyzing, and cleaning large datasets for AI Models as needed
• Document AI development processes and outcomes
• Effectively communicate the function and purpose of AI systems to stakeholders, particularly for those who are less familiar with AI technology
• Interact on a professional basis with internal and external staff in a personable manner
• Communicate progress, or impediments to progress, to users and managers
• Organize and maintain workload and work independently with limited supervision
• Participate in, and contribute to, team projects and meetings

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS (Special Skill Set, Abilities & Knowledge):

• Strong programing skills in Python
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensorflow
• Familiarity with working on LLMs and/or other NLP models
• Mange assigned requests from a variety of diverse business users
• Understand business requirements, regulatory needs and their impact on business as well as the technology essential to support them
• Maintain comprehensive code and documentation consistent with best practices and agency policy
• Generate accurate deliverables consistently and under pressure
• Knowledge of benchmarking and evaluation metrics for Machine Learning models is a plus

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: (Education, Year’ Experience & Certificates):

• BS in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience
• Experience working with AWS AI tools, SQL, Python, R, Snowflake and/or other Programming Tools required
• 3+ years’ experience working as a programmer/developer, preferably in healthcare
