The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting execution of all SCM responsibilities under direction from the Department Manager. The SCM individual will establish the software configuration process and ensure adherence to the program’s Software Configuration Management Plans. Key responsibilities will include, to ensure software configuration items and baselines are properly identified, tracking and controlling software changes, providing oversight and management of handoffs for software products between teams while ensuring the integrity of the delivered software products. Generating and reporting configuration status as required. Individual will have ownership of the SCM processes and provide guidance and oversight to program teams towards implementation of SCM best practices. Other assignments may be assigned within the team as needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide software configuration management support for assigned programs. In addition, may perform configuration and data management (C&DM) support for programs.
  • Establish, control, and maintain required configuration information using SCM tools such as Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Teamwork Cloud, Cameo, or JFrog Artifactory and knowledge of other PDM tools similar to Agile or Fusion.
  • Responsible for the creation, review, maintenance and compliance of Software Configuration Management Plan (SCMP) for assigned programs.
  • Support configuration status accounting in accordance with CMP/SCMP requirements.
  • Support the processing, release, and delivery (when applicable) of software changes and software deliverables. May support the processing of Engineering Change Orders (EOs).
  • Manage Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and other engineering boards as required.
  • Track all data deliverables and ensure records are accurate.
  • Responsible for ensuring data items are delivered timely and accurately.
  • Prepare the delivery of data items in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Interact with Customers and Suppliers as needed to reconcile all data delivery records.
  • Represent the C&DM team as the SCM focal to SBUs as the first point of contact for SCM process implementation and SCM task execution for programs.
  • Support program personnel in best SCM practices and define the SCM processes that support programs and review and approve any program tailoring as it applies to SCM.
  • Collaborate with multiple program teams, Mission Assurance, Program Management, and Customers and other Stakeholders as required to uphold process integrity throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS/BA in a related field plus 6 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Solid fundamental knowledge of CM/SCM Principles.
  • Familiarity with SAE ANSI/EIA-649C Configuration Management Standards.
  • Experience with leading SCM for large-scale systems with subcontractor collaboration/involvement.
  • Experience with Agile and Model Based design methodologies and principles.
  • Experience with software development factories/pipelines. Desired expertise using software tools such as: Bitbucket, Jira, and Cameo.
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience utilizing databases to manage technical and engineering data.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in typical job responsibilities listed above.
  • Act as a mentor within the organization on SCM processes and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
  • Computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
