Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation of a major banking project. This role requires a strong understanding of core banking systems and the ability to conceptualize and implement solutions based on detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality software aligned with Santander Bank’s best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design effective solutions aligned with core banking systems.
  • Develop processes and programs to meet project needs identified during the analysis phase.
  • Perform unit testing and revisions to ensure error-free code and adherence to Santander Bank standards.
  • Design and execute end-to-end tests to validate major deliverables; analyze results and report issues.
  • Review test outcomes with the team and finalize program documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation to support change management and production deployment.
  • Participate in post-implementation activities, ensuring accurate delivery of project information.
  • Iterate development cycles as needed to meet evolving project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in:
  • Operating Systems: Linux, Unix
  • Languages: Java, Python, C, JCLs
  • Scripting: Shell Script, PowerShell
  • Database: Oracle
  • Tools: Microfocus, Eclipse
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
  • Nice to Have: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
