Job Title: Project Architect

Job Description

As a Project Architect (Intermediate–Senior), you will play a key role in delivering high-quality architectural solutions for large-scale public sector projects. The project involves a major retrofit of a large public building in Gatineau, valued at approximately $200 million. You will be responsible for leading design development, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards, with occasional onsite presence in Ottawa.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze project requirements from reports and documents.
• Develop architectural designs that meet quality, budget, and timeline goals.
• Coordinate design intent with engineering and other disciplines.
• Integrate site surveys and jurisdictional requirements into design.
• Prepare design reports, drawings, and models per office standards.
• Conduct site visits to ensure construction compliance and resolve issues.
• Review shop drawings and project deliverables for quality and code adherence.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 8+ years of architectural experience, including leading construction documents (CDs) and design development.
• Experience coordinating with consultants and leading project teams.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and other architectural design tools.
• Familiarity with MEP and Structural systems and building codes.
• Reliability Security Clearance (must have currently).
• Certified Architect by OAA.
• Ability to work onsite in Ottawa as needed for client-facing meetings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience coordinating medium to large teams (5–10 people).
• Eligibility for Secret-level security clearance.

Work Environment

The project location is based in Ottawa, with client-facing meetings occurring weekly. The candidate can work 100% remote, with occasional in-person attendance for meetings. You will be coordinating with medium to large teams (5–10 people).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $78.00/hr.
