Job Summary
The Material Handler I is responsible for ensuring the highest level of accuracy in customer order fulfillment. Key responsibilities include receiving products, stocking/replenishment, product selection, routing completed orders, and maintaining a safe work environment. Proficiency with computers is required. Adherence to the guidelines set by the Manager of Distribution and the Operations Management Team is essential. Compliance with the mission, values, and service standards is expected.
Job Responsibilities
- Attitude: Effectively practices and promotes teamwork. Actions align with departmental and organizational objectives, keeping in mind that patients are at the end of the supply chain.
- Quality of Work: Ensures inventory accuracy across the health system. Verifies products, quantities, and label integrity. Provides notification of item maintenance as needed.
- Quantity of Work: Consistently meets established work volume standards.
- Job Knowledge: Possesses knowledge of products and procedures related to job duties, distribution center operations, pharmaceutical repackaging, and health system operations.
- Judgement: Makes informed decisions based on job knowledge and experience. Considers all impacted areas and seeks advice when necessary.
- Dependability & Empowerment: Completes assignments independently and communicates unresolved issues promptly.
- Industry: Utilizes available work hours effectively and seeks additional tasks upon completion.
- Personal Appearance: Adheres to dress code and maintains a clean, well-groomed appearance.
- Safety: Consistently observes universal precautions and uses personal protective equipment when appropriate.
- Attendance: Complies with attendance standards and provides advance notification of absences when possible.
Qualifications Minimum Required
- Demonstrated mathematical ability to count accurately and follow written instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex instructions simultaneously.
- Ability to reach and lift supplies and boxes of reasonable weight.
- Capability to safely and repetitively lift and carry a 50-pound load, as demonstrated during a post-offer functional capacity testing process.
- Ability to work long hours in a warehouse preparing and loading freight.
- Familiarity with computers and keyboard proficiency.
Qualifications Preferred
- High School diploma.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Experience with lot-controlled and expiration-dated product handling.
- Ability to operate forklifts and rider pallet jacks.
