Position Summary:
The Office of Special Events at Cardozo School of Law organizes over 1400 events/year. The team currently produces and coordinates law school events such as meetings, luncheons, student parties, conferences, and Board functions. Simultaneously, the Office of Student Services and Advising serves over 1000 students while seeking to build community with student organizations and provide support for individual students.
We are seeking a coordinator for the Office of Special Events and the Office of Student Services and Advising to assist both teams with day-to-day operations and student-facing needs. This team member should be able to work with Microsoft Excel and have good writing and communication skills, being particularly responsive to and engaging with student inquiries. Interest in event planning and higher education is a plus. The Coordinator will regularly perform responsibilities for each office on a schedule to be determined by the department directors, as well as focus on long-term initiatives (Orientation, Commencement, final exam administration) for both offices at various points during the academic year.
Position Responsibilities:
The coordinator will interface with numerous students, administrators, and faculty, as well as with multiple vendors.
The Coordinator must exercise good judgment and empathy, especially when assisting students who are dealing with challenging circumstances and may be under emotional distress.
